Habitats: Rainforests

Create your own rainforest habitat based off the Amazon. Find out how chameleons camouflage themselves by creating your own chameleon artwork. Hands-On Education are passionate about providing positive educational experiences for children through interactive and engaging hands-on activities. Whilst meeting the standards in the National Curriculum in England, our activities encourage children to play, explore, observe, build, create and much more. We promote child-led learning, inspiring confidence and independence as children develop their own ideas and understanding.

Rainforest Habitats Collage

  • Sc2/2.1b identify that most living things live in habitats to which they are suited and describe how different habitats provide for the basic needs of different kinds of animals and plants, and how they depend on each other
  • Sc2/2.1c identify and name a variety of plants and animals in their habitats, including microhabitat
  • Ar1/1.2 to use drawing, painting and sculpture to develop and share their ideas, experiences and imagination

  • Ge1/1.3a identify the location of hot and cold areas of the world in relation to the Equator and the North and South Poles
  • Ge1/1.4a use world maps, atlases and globes to identify the United Kingdom and its countries, as well as the countries, continents and oceans studied at this key stage
