How do I use these activities?

This investigation will not only teach your child about the properties of different materials but will also help them develop their scientific observation and recording skills. Here are some additional tips to enhance this learning experience:

  • Encourage your child to predict how they think each object will behave before conducting the investigation. This will help them develop critical thinking skills.
  • Have a variety of objects made from different materials such as rubber, metal, plastic, and wood available for your child to investigate. This will allow them to compare and contrast the properties of different materials.
  • Once your child has completed the investigation, encourage them to analyse their results and draw conclusions about how materials move and change shape. This will help them develop their analytical skills.

Remember, learning through hands-on activities is a fun and engaging way for children to develop their knowledge and skills. So, get ready to have some fun with your child as they explore the fascinating world of materials and their properties!
