In this activity your child will use their sense of taste to sort foods into two groups: sweet and salty.

Throughout our 7 Five Senses topics your child will play and discover their senses! Make a feely box, guess what’s inside the shakers and throw balls into a bowl whilst blind folded. This topic contains 7 activities with accompanying activity sheets. In addition, it covers the following key aspects of the National Curriculum in England: Design & Technology, Music and Science.

  • Cutting board
  • Two plates
  • You will need combination of salty and sweet foods suitable for your child.
  • For example:
    Sweet: chocolate / strawberries / cake
    Salty: peanut butter / olives / cheese / crisps
  • Sc1/2.2d identify, name, draw and label the basic parts of the human body and say which part of the body is associated with each sense
  • Dt1/2.1a use the basic principles of a healthy and varied diet to prepare dishes
