Activity 5
A Memory
Practical Resources:
Relation to Curriculum in England:
Downloads:
This activity is a great way to introduce Year Two learners to classical poetry. By considering William Allingham's poem "A Memory", children can explore the use of imagery in poetry. They will draw a picture of their own happy memory, inspired by the poet's description, and describe it. This task meets the English aspect of the National Curriculum of England.
Hands-On Education offers further English and Poetry topics, such as classical poetry: one, tell me a story: one, and tell me a story: two. With tons of videos, activity sheets, and easy-to-understand activity plans, primary school teachers and home educators will find plenty of resources to support children in their learning journey.
