  • Cookie cutter shapes
  • String
  • 125g lard (vegetable shortening)
  • 100g porridge oats
  • 50g seeds (sunflower / pumpkin etc...)
  • 50g dried fruit (raisins / sultans)
  • Dt1/1.2b select from and use a wide range of materials and components, including ingredients, according to their characteristics
  • Sc1/2.2b identify and name a variety of common animals that are carnivores, herbivores and omnivores

How do I use this activity?

In this activity your child will select appropriate ingredients to make food suitable for birds. They will recognise that birds are omnivores, eating fruit and seeds as well as insects.
